TAILORING

During my second year on the BA (Hons) costume construction degree, we were introduced to basic tailoring techniques and materials, whilst considering the movement requirements of Cirque du soleil. Adapting a traditional tailcoat to a performance with gymnastics, acrobatics, tumbling and dance, provided the opportunity to learn how an underarm gusset can be added for ease of movement.
